Swine Flu H1N1 May Have Been Man-Made

It may sound like tonight’s topic for a late night radio talk show, but several leading scientists are beginning to suspect that the H1N1 virus may have been man-made, and accidently released from a vaccine facility.

Andrian Gibbs, an Australian researcher who work lead to the development of the anti-viral drug Tamiflu is due to release a paper today that puts this forth as one possibility for the unique mutations of this strain.

He isn’t alone in his suggestions either. Richard Webby, a virologist at St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis has similar findings in his study of the virus. “The rapid mutation of the virus seems to have occured overnight, while such mutations occurring naturally usually show up gradually over five to seven years”, said Gibbs.

“The simplest explanation is a lab release”, he concluded. Read the full story at:
